‘Excuse me Bella’

Sometimes Bubba says the funniest things!

Like yesterday, when we were playing and she was drawing with her special crayons. She was standing up drawing on pieces of paper on her table. Just the perfect height for me to lean on her and hope for some loves. But instead of giving me loves, she pushed right back against me and said ‘excuse me Bella‘.

Wow, Bubba! I didn’t even know you knew the words excuse me, let alone that you knew them and used them in the right context. Of course, other people might have heard what you said as more like ‘soose me beeba‘, but because we talk to you all day and understand your language, we knew what you were asking. And we think you’re super clever. Not clever enough for me to move though, Bella needs her loves.

There were a couple of other words that Bubba surprised us with this weekend. When she and grandma were walking down the stairs, grandma said ‘one‘ and Bubba said ‘doo‘. When they were playing with blocks, Bubba said ‘blue‘ (and it was even a blue block)!

And mumma’s favourite of the weekend (not really – they’re all mumma’s favourite!) was when she was carrying Bubba out of her room and Bubba said ‘uh oh‘. When mumma asked her what was wrong, Bubba pointed at her sneakers and said ‘sooes‘. Mumma had picked up the rest of Bubba’s outfit for the day but forgotten to get her shoes.

Mumma always said apples don’t fall far from trees. If Bubba gets a love of shoes like mumma has, we’re going to need more closet space!

Hope you get lots of loves today. Mumma is home so we can look after her again, so we she definitely will.
