Here comes the summer sunshine

I’m dreaming I know, but I am so very keen for winter to be over, that I’m just going to repeat that mantra over and over until it is finally true.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to have any kind of sun – even this weak winter sun. But what I really crave is sun that sends temperatures to the late 20s early 30s during the day. Days when a sundress is all a girl needs. Days when night-time comes and there’s barely any need for covers on the bed.

In other words: not this current weather!

Anyone who knows me, knows I’m not a fan of winter, and much prefer spring and summer. Hey, I’m even okay with autumn, but this winter business is for the birds. Or bears. Or arctic creatures who like the snow. Or New York at Christmas time.

This particular winter has done no favours in tempting me to love the season. Incessant sickness and coughing. Trying to maintain the temperature – Bubba’s, her room and our house – is enough to make even the strongest winter advocate dream of summer sunshine, warm days and balmy evenings.

Only another five weeks or so to go.

Somewhere in the Maldives. Yes please!

Bring. It. On!

  1. I hear ya about winter, my favorite season is fall, not too hot not too cold ;) It has been miserably hot here so far this summer, which cuts in to the dog activities :(

  2. Here’s hoping you have an early spring! There’s nothing worse than the cold of winter…although I don’t like they type of heat a lot of the US is experiencing. Thank goodness we’ve escaped it (so far).
