That long already?

I can’t believe Bubba’s hair is this long already!

How (and when) did that happen? I didn’t even think it would be long enough as I started the attempt – I’d been spurred on by a photo my lovely friend had sent me of her daughter’s hair in a similar braid - her daughter is only one day older than my Love Bug.

She has definitely had a growth spurt in the past couple of weeks. I’ve noticed the sleeves of her long-sleeved t-shirts and her leggings are all looking a little shorter on her limbs. Considering she’s wearing 12 month sizing, it’s probably good at 19 months that she’s finally growing out of them!

It is good for her of course, but I still find myself every day thinking I’m not ready for this yet, where’s the pause button?

When I was young, I used to love having my hair brushed (once the bit where the knots were brushed out was over that is!) and I remember fondly my parents brushing my really long hair.

The night last week that I took this photo of her hair, another magical thing happened. I always comb and brush her hair once I’ve washed it but on this particular night, when I reached to put the brush back, Bubba pointed at it. No came her little high-pitched request. No don’t put it away yet? She then pointed at her head. I started combing it again and she started singing a little tune.

Apparently Bubba loves to have her hair brushed too!

I don’t like being brushed!! No amount of Wagg treats will make me lie still, I go to play hide and seek when the brush does appear!! Can Bubba have my share of brushing too???

  2. I lose my mind when Mom brushes me. I get all hunchy and desperate-looking and run till I can’t run anymore (or till I crash into a wall). I’m happy Bubba takes after Mumma. So sweet!
