Me and my shadow

Bubba and I took advantage of the beautiful morning sunshine today and walked to daycare together.

I carried her across the couple of roads and on the narrow path past driveways. But the rest of the time she walked beside me – mumma holding her hand as snugly as possible without being too tight!

I thought about how many thousands of times we’ll walk together to daycare and then school over the coming years.

Then I pulled myself back to this moment and tried to burn to memory the feeling of her soft bubba hand, which is still so little that it is engulfed in mine.

I looked down at her hand and watched as she chased our morning shadows into our day.

Me and my shadow.
