A world of firsts

There are going to be so many firsts … thousands of them. And I’m sure I’m going to get super excited about each and every one of them. Like this morning.

I assume that when Bubba goes to school there will be fund raising and we’ll have raffle tickets to sell. Or fund raising chocolates.

We all know how well that will go. Or rather where they will go. Those chocolates will fall into her Mumma’s belly. All of them. One night while everyone is sleeping. Yep, that’s what will happen to the fund raising chocolates. Unless her Aunty is around at the time. In that case the fund raising chocolates will probably fall into her Aunty’s belly. At least half of them.

I digress.

I didn’t expect to have her first raffle tickets arrive before her first birthday, but they did. There are 10 raffle tickets – the prizes are all for local businesses, and the raffle book has Bubba’s name on the front of it. And it came with an invitation to the Family Day Care Playgroup’s Christmas Party. Awwww.

I may have shed a little tear.

Amazing! They start earlier and earlier. When you finish with the chocolates you may have to clean all the wrapping paper you’ve bought out of your closet – or put all your gifts in large boxes.
