This morning Bubba woke up and after her breakfast decided to scream and cry. By the time she’d been awake for 2 hours, mumma was exhausted.
So you know what I did? I logged onto Spotify (how have I been living under a rock and missed this until now?) and loaded up some tragic 1908s power ballads.
Think Chicago (love love this movie – A Lot Like Love – and this scene is awesome!), REO Speedwagon, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake … and the list goes on. Apologies for the earworms!
The kind of music that you generally don’t admit to ever listening to but may bring out for a road trip to sing at the top of your lungs.
And that’s just what we did. We turned the volume up as loud as we could, in reality to drown out the screaming (sorry neighbours) and we jumped up and down on mumma’s bed (which I was really trying hard to change the linen on) and danced and sang.
I may have even blown Bubba’s hair out of her eyes in the absence of our very own wind machine. Oh, and she thought the pearls completed her pyjama and cardigan outfit!

At one point, all 4 of us were on the bed, although I’m not too sure what Bella and Beary made of the music.
You gotta do what you gotta do when you’re a mumma! Oh, and apologies for the earworms!
Nothing better than a good jammin’ session to change the tears to laughs! I bet Bella & Beary were loving being in the “thick” of it all.
OH Bubba! You’re supposed to wait until you’re two to do that stuff. You are ahead of schedule!
It’s a loooooong time between now and 3!!
Tall person says that he enjoys those type of earworms! 🙂
