You’re My Home

Bubba and I have danced almost every night of her life. It’s a little thing we like to do between bath and bed. I put my iPod on shuffle and we can be found dancing around the house to an eclectic mix of music.

I’ve mentioned before I’m a Christmas crazy, and now that it’s December there’s a good dose of Christmas music in the iPod mix. Even though the selection is random, tonight there were a few times Michael Buble croons a Christmas song in our ears. Bliss.

The words of two songs tonight particularly pull at my heart strings as I hold my Love Bug in my arms.

I’ve always loved Billy Joel – particularly his old stuff – so when You’re My Home comes on (from Songs in the Attic – originally on 1973’s Piano Man) the words ring true and I hold my Bubba closer. Home is just another word for you … and wherever we’re together, that is my home.

The other song is Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk. Some people (not me of course, but some others) may recognise it from the 1990’s TV show Dawson’s Creek. I do feel like I’m back where I belong, being with Bubba feels like home.

I thought a musical blog was appropriate tonight, as I sit snuggled up on my couch at home – wishing I was a hundred miles away with my sister in a vineyard watching Elton John.

You are where you really want to be – at home with Bubba.

Very lovely post. I dance with De most days and we have great fun!

You’ll find that all your sacrifices to be with Bubba are very much worth it.
