It’s Bubba’s lesson for today.

I’ll explain. As you know, she’s crawling around and standing up. This is fine if she’s wearing a onesie, but it’s a little trickier with a dress on. That’s a problem given how many dresses that girl owns! Either they never get worn, or we find another solution.

So today we found another solution – tuck your dress into your knickers!

That way you can still wear your cute dress (today’s had matching knickers) but you can also crawl around and pull yourself up on things. As I was tucking it in, I said to Bubba “sometimes life is easier with your dress tucked into your knickers”.

Then I thought about it and mentioned to her other times it might come in handy.

When you’re doing a cartwheel. Or a hand stand. Or a bend back. Or a walk over.

When you’re climbing a tree. Or when you’re climbing generally.

When you’re hanging upside down on the monkey bars. Just because you can and the world looks funny from there.

When you’re walking along the water’s edge at the beach and you’re not there for a swim but you want to get your feet wet.

When you’re playing ‘horsie’ with the dogs.

When you’re running away really fast from someone who has the tickle bugs (ie their index fingers) out and is trying to tickle you.

When you’re learning to ride a bike.

When you have to scramble over a wall or through a hole in the fence.

Sadly, these are mostly only okay while you are little – if your mumma tried any of those, she’d probably get arrested!
