Bubba the book worm

You can’t fight genetics. Bubba comes from a long line of book worms. We love to read. Love it! Her grandma was a librarian and my sister and I grew up with our noses in books.

As you’ll know from this post, I have been reading to her since I was 5 months pregnant.

For Christmas, grandma bought Bubba her very own super cute book shelf. One that mumma only just managed to get put together and stack some books in yesterday. Once I’d assembled it I put it near Bubba’s other toys in our lounge room.

Tonight we were having a little play together before bed time when Bubba crawled over to the book shelf, stood up (??!!) and chose a book to read. She then crawled back over to me, plonked herself in my lap and sat snuggled in while I read to her.

There is a chance my heart may explode with joy. Right out of my chest.

Oh … and she now has her own library card. Which she uses on special visits to the library with grandma.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better …

Bubba the book worm. Divine!

This is so cute. I used to read to my son as well, and when he struggled with his own reading I made him read to me first. He is now a great reader (when he’s not playing video games).

  2. Hi!
Great story!!!! My mother read to me and taught me how to read at a very young age. I am still a avid reader and have a 5,000 book library! LOL…. I read to my children and they all enjoy reading. You are doing a great job and cherish each moment with her for they pass by so quickly my friend! That she stood up made me smile for it brings back a lot of memories for a old guy like me…. Your blog is great! Keep up the wonderful posts and I can’t wait till we read about you chasing the running Bubba around the house! *big grin*
Collies Hugs for You and Bubba!

    1. You’ll be sure to hear about me chasing her around when it happens … I’m just not quite ready for it yet. I am enjoying every moment. She’s a precious gift! Just like my furry kids. Belly scratchies for the Collies from me.

  3. What an important lesson you’ve taught Bubba! Reading is so important to a child’s development. Our Poppy has quite a collection too and I have a bag of books that we’re taking when we visit in 2 weeks.
