We got home late from day care last night because I’d been out looking at (not right for us) houses to rent. I sat with Bubba on the lounge room floor to play with her for a little while before her bath – as we usually do.
She stood up and cruised along the couch: walking but holding on, which she’s been doing for a while now (although I have noticed her speed increasing)!
Then, in one magical moment, she looked at me, let go of the couch, gave me a HUGE smile and took 3 tentative steps, closing the distance between us. When she reached me she threw her arms up and flung her arms around my neck.
I’ve never been more proud. Or felt a bigger rush of love. Ever. My clever little Love Bug. There was cheering and clapping and cuddling and about 84 million kisses.
Then the little cherub proceeded to do it again. And again.
What a happy day!
(The only bad part about being a single mumma in this moment: no-one to video it!)

I don’t have all those golden moments on video either, since I was the only one there to witness too, but those times are burned on my total recall forever. Who needs a video camera anyway!!! But you could buy a tripod and set it up hands free 🙂
