Tonight I found myself in (another) perfect moment. I had worked until later than usual so had less than an hour with Bubba before her bedtime. When I picked her up from day care she had a runny nose and was already making tired signs.

As much as I wanted to be selfish and keep her up to spend time with me, I knew she needed to go to bed early, so half an hour after I picked her up we were laying on my bed and she was having her bottle. Bella and Beary were also on the bed. Bella was playing with a toy and Beary was just laying close to Bubba.

Close for Beary that is. His proximity to Bubba is always on his terms.

Bubba stretched her arm out towards him and instead of pulling away – which he would normally do – he leaned in and licked her hand. At which point she dissolved into giggles. It was a very cute sound and Beary tipped his head to the side the way he does when he hears a noise he’s curious of.

Bubba then reached her arm out again and he licked it again. This was repeated two more times, with her giggling and he tilting his head to look at her. Divine.

Also another moment I wished I’d had a camera, or someone else to get a camera to capture the moment. It’s not a memory I’m likely to forget though.
