As you will know if you’re a regular visitor to our blog, Bubba is – and has always been – a little on the small side. Good things come in small packages, but our doctor has been keeping a close eye on her growth.
We went for a visit this morning for an update – and she’s had a little spurt (yay Bubba)! Well, she’s had a little spurt upwards at least. Outwards, not so much, but she’s heading in the right direction.
She’s 5cm (2in) taller, and 750gm (26oz) heavier than she was in February, so she’s now on the second bottom line of the weight chart and a little further up on the height chart.
I talked with the nurse about her diet and eating habits (she eats anything I put in front of her). Bubba has even taken to pulling up her shirt to show you her tummy, or pat it once she’s had her dinner, so she’s obviously a fan of being full and happy! A little foodie just like her mumma maybe? (Not that I show off my full belly – no-one needs to see that!)
The nurse thought it was great that we shop at the farmers’ market, buy organic where possible and that I make almost all of her food. Bubba has a vitamin supplement (that in mumma’s opinion doesn’t taste so fabulous so I generally add to her greek yoghurt and fruit), and we eat lots of legumes so she’s getting everything she needs.
She may just be petite, or she may have a growth spurt a little later than other bubbas. Either way, I think my Bubba is just perfect the way she is!
Yay for Bubba – climbing the charts. Little by little gets the job done.
Woohoo for Bubba!! You know what they say…big things come in small packages and Bubba is surely no exception! 🙂
Bubba is perfect and petite. She eats well, enjoys her food and is happy!
Well, she sounds like a happy, healthy girl, regardless of the numbers on the scale. But it does make you feel better when you see them climbing up the charts, right?
