The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree

Bubba is sick. She basically has the flu, but for a little person, that’s absolutely no fun at all. Most of the past 36 hours she’s either looked like this:

it all hurts mumma

Or like this:

cuddles will make the hurties go away

She either been crying, or very quiet. Very unlike her. Not her usual gorgeous bubbly self.

With the exception of a couple of big beaming smiles. Once when I stopped to get a coffee on the way home from taking her to the doctor first thing this morning and a gorgeous puppy of non discriminable heritage – aka a mutt, our favourite kind – walked (or rather skipped!) past us. Bubba opened her barely open eyes, pointed at the puppy and yelled oof oof oof then giggled. As soon as he was out of sight, she went back to snuggling in and saying nothing.

The other smile was yesterday afternoon after she’d woken from a nap and I was trying to get her to eat something. Anything really. She did manage to get some of this meal in, but as you can see, Bella and Beary were the very happy recipients of what she didn’t want!

that’s a cheeky smile I love

No matter how bad I’m feeling, puppy dogs (mine or others I may meet) always make me smile.

Seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
