Seven years ago today a litter of puppies was born. Their mumma was a german shepherd, their daddy unknown, although looking at them, my guess would be a kelpie. I have no idea, nor do I want to consider, what the first two weeks of their lives were like – but I can only imagine awful. Awful enough that whoever they belonged to thought it okay to leave the mumma and her four pups in a big box on the side of a busy road.
For those of you who know our story, you’ll know I’m talking about my beautiful Bella’s start in life. For those of you who don’t know her story, you can read about it in her wonderful Dog Treats interview over at For the Love of My Dogs (an awesome blog you should check out if you already haven’t)!
I am so grateful to rescue organisations such as Paws’n’Hooves where I found Bella and I urge anyone contemplating a 4-legged fur-ever friend to check out your local shelter before you go to a breeder or a pet store – you just never know who might be out there waiting for you.
So, today’s post is to say happy 7th birthday my beautiful fuzzy soul mate Bella. Thank you for being my fur-ever friend, and for loving me unconditionally. I love you all the way from the tip of your snout around the universe and back to the tip of your tail.

Grandma bought me and Beary some other organic yummy doggy biscuits, so mumma says we can finish those before she makes us a batch of the Honey Oat treats. Which is so good because it means the birthday treats extend way past my birthday!
