I’ve got this

Bubba and I have been spending time standing at the fruit bowl picking up different pieces of fruit to smell the difference and feel the textures.

It’s interesting watching her learn that breathing in is how you smell, and breathing out is how you blow your nose. There have been a couple of times she’s mixed it up, but that usually just results in glorious little giggles.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was still peeling, slicing and lightly stewing apples. Not sure if it was the texture, the crunch, or something else entirely, but apple slices were devoured by her when lightly stewed and left well alone when not.

Until yesterday.

We were doing our smell and texture exploration at the fruit bowl and when I handed her an apple she went to take a bite of it. Holding the core in one hand and the base of the apple in the other hand. As she put her mouth against it she screwed up her nose and handed me the apple. My attempt to put it back in the fruit bowl was met with shaking of her head, so I sat her down, peeled the apple and handed it back to her whole.

And this is what happened.

see mumma, i’ve got this
sometimes you’ve got to take a really BIG bite
those teeny little teeth marks kill me!

In the blink of an eye I tell you!

    1. Aw, thanks so much! I feel the same about your writing – I wanted to be sharing that bread with Bassa last week. And I’m loving your new blog too! x

  2. What a wonderful way to introduce her to new tastes and smells! She certainly seems to be enjoying her apple.

That’s a great way to learn tastes and textures. And Bubba is saying Mommy I am ready to try out the new teeth. And she looks so cute biting into that big apple:)
