No, we haven’t invented a new yoga pose. But we have a new little thing that has started to happen during the past week, so I thought I’d share it with you all.
Once Bubba is done with her evening bottle, she gives the puppies a cuddle but then instead of putting her arms up so I can carry her from my bed to hers as she always has done, now she shimmies up to my pillows and throws herself back against them.
And if I am not already laying with my head on the pillow beside her, she tugs at my arm, or (my favourite) wraps her little arm around my neck and pulls me back into the pillows with her.
Down mumma.
We lay there for a little while having a chat about our day (at least I think that’s what we’re talking about!) and hold hands and she pats my face and generally just take a time out from the world to bask in the warmth of each other’s love. Heads together, feet somewhere touching the dogs. It’s a pretty nice little place to be.
I quite often tell her stories during this time, mostly ones made up in my head – or the story of how Bella and Beary came to live with us, or how much I wanted a bubba of my own.
Last night I decided to get a book to read. I excused myself from the bed bus for 30 seconds and came back with Guess How Much I Love You. I settled in and we read it, smiling, aaawing and giving the bunnies kisses (I love that she kisses book characters!) then when we were finished I tucked the book under the pillow and sat up.
Then this happened.
She pulled the book out again, pulled at my arm down mumma and then she read the book to me. She read it to me. Yep. I know. Be still my beating heart.
Love. That. Kid. All the way to the moon.
And back.

Love it. Great picture! And I haven’t seen the pacifier lately. Is she completely over it?
This is day 10 without it. I almost caved in yesterday (seems she may be getting a big back tooth) but we got through without it. Yay!
Yay!
…. and back!!!!!
This was a really sweet post. Thanks for sharing. She is getting soooooo big.
Oh, what a sweet story! Love it! There are certain things that I will never ever get rid of, don’t care how old my kids get… our copy of “Goodnight, Moon” for this very reason.
Too cute, what a treat!!!! I love that picture too, aww it accompanies the story perfectly 🙂
