They just know

As anyone with animals will attest, they have a sixth sense and just know when you are about to leave them. Of course, the suitcase generally gives you away eventually, but even before I got ours out this week they both seemed to know something was going on.

There have been times in the past when I travelled a lot more that I would walk in and find Bella scampering away with something I’d just packed, as if by taking that one item from my luggage I’d be forced to stay at home.

Bubba and I are leaving tomorrow so last night I packed what I could. And I thought I packed a lot – those small people sure do need lots of things. Her pile of things puts mine to shame!

Bella and Beary snuggled up even closer than usual last night. At one point I woke up super warm and realised it was because Beary (who usually gets up for a cuddle goodnight when I first go to bed but then sleeps on the floor until it’s time for his morning cuddle) had climbed onto the bed and snuggled in so that I was spooning him. He’s not a small dog so his body was almost the length of mine.

It’s so lovely that they want you to stick around, but sometimes a girl (and her bubba) need a holiday. I will continue to blog from our holiday, although will be doing so from my phone so spelling may be left to auto correct – and we all know how interesting that can sometimes be!

Oh, and don’t worry about the puppies, their grandma is coming to stay with them so they will get nothing but loves, loves, treats, brushes, and more loves. Woo woo says Beary!

  1. Of course, they do. Animals sure have 6 senses. And we love them.

  2. Thank goodness the doggies can stay at home with grandma. That is much better than dog jail, I mean boarding. Have fun!

    Love and licks,

I hate leaving my beautiful girls too. Little Baby Harriet always know even if i go out without her which rarely happens and she sulks in the corner and (as she’s a rescue) does a little wee….. Grandma will spoil your bubs and loads of kisses when you get home, that’s the best part L xxx

  4. Have a fabulous holiday! Be good to see the pics! Lots of love and hugs! xxx

I hope you have a lovely holiday, where is you going??

    1. Not too far for Bubba’s first plane ride. We’re going to Melbourne (about 90 minute flight) to visit some lovely friends (who have a bubba one day older than Bubba) and we’re going to go to their beach house for a few days. Yay!

OO sounds so lovely!! Got any room in the suitcase??

  7. Sage always HATES it when I leave too, but it’s so nice to have someone stay with them in their own environment. Beary and Bella will love having their grandma there and showering them with loads of love and treats!

  10. Yes, small people do need lots of things – disproportionate to their size!
