Bubba and I took full advantage of the lovely warm sunshine on the last day of our holiday on the weekend. I thought some time outdoors might help her feel a little better.
So I mixed up four basic paint colours into 10 colours in an old egg carton, laid out a huge piece of plastic then unrolled some brown paper across the top of a flattened sun lounger and let her do her thing.
She had such fun and being the lovely little sharer that she is, even offered me the paint brush a few times. Not wanting to change her masterpiece in any way, if she was painting dots at the time I just added a dot, if she was painting lines, I added a line.
Once she was done, she had almost as much fun washing paint off using the hose!
While she had her daytime sleep, her artwork hung in the sunshine and warm wind to dry. When she woke up we hung it on one of the sliding doors of her robe in her bedroom.
Every night since, when I’m putting her to bed she points at it: paint, paper, Bubba. Yes, my lovely girl, that is indeed your first masterpiece.
And I love it. Although nowhere near as much as I love you!
