Bubba and our neighbourhood Cat have not seen each other for a couple of weeks. Not since Cat upset Bubba by running away from her (a conundrum addressed very well by our friends Bella and DiDi).
So imagine Bubba’s delight when we rounded the corner yesterday morning and there sat Cat in the middle of the footpath, just waiting for some Bubba loves.
Hi Cat!
{I love in this photo that she is doing what she does to Bella and Beary: one hand on their chest and the other on their head, leans in to look them in the eye and ask: you okay?}
I have missed you Cat.
Kisses for Cat.
Cuddles for Cat.
So, this is what I’ve been up to since I saw you last.
Uh, oh. Mumma is saying we need to go so that she can go to that place called work.
Let’s pretend we can’t hear her.
Oh no, we really have to go? Okay, just one more cuddle.
I carried Bubba away sobbing that she had to leave Cat. She waved goodbye and said through her tears bye Cat, love you Cat.
Although she is probably too little to understand yet, I explained to her that even though she feels sad about leaving her friend, that’s a good thing because when you’re sad about having to leave someone, it means that they are special to you.
I told her Cat was probably sad too and looking forward to the next time Bubba comes for cuddles.
{By the way, we’re going to the RSPCA on Saturday to donate some towels, blankets and toys. We are not coming home with a cat.}

Famous last words! We’ll see….
When she’s older, if she still loves cats we will definitely rescue one. But for now, three kids is enough for one Mumma!
Love this!
Oh my precious pictures.
Hi, I came across your blog after seeing what old work girls had gotten up to (I had heard there were big changes) on LinkedIn and saw you had a blog about becoming a mama and so I was delighted to read how wonderfully everything has come out for you. I remember vaugely when we still worked together, you talking about wanting to make the steps to get pregnant and your beautiful little girl has give you quite the fabulous outcome + story. At my office they call me ‘butterfly’ because i ‘live in my own bubble of happiness’ and it is stories like this that keep me in there 🙂
So lovely to hear from you! I often wonder where you are and how you’re doing. The girls in your office are right – you always were such a happy soul. Glad to hear that’s still the case. xox
I got married to my Boston boy and we are happily-ever-after living in Melbourne city 🙂 colleen green is the only one I’m yet to find online , so if you ever see her somehow, pls tell her I said hi.
Keep enjoying your lovely little piece of cutie pie, you have the greatest gift in the world 🙂 xo
I love these photos, and I love Bubba’s sweet prairie skirt. Too adorable.
It’s actually a dress … and it is super cute!
(why do I think the bracketed sentance may lead to a new title post called our very own cat? BOL!)
not. going. to. happen. (at least not yet!)
That’s so sweet!
Thanks Clowie for stopping by! I had the good fortune to meet (and give some loves to) a Great Pyrenees called Bear in the middle of the city (Sydney, Australia) yesterday at lunchtime 🙂
That’s nice! Was your little girl with you? Because I adore small children and they usually want to make a fuss of me.
Unfortunately not because I was at work. If she was with me, we’d probably still be there – she loves to share her loves!
OMG! That is absolutely adorable! What a sweetheart Bubba is!
Right now it’s hard to imagine her being anything other than a vet or animal activist when she grows up!
Those are such lovely photos:-)
What a sweetheart…she’s so good with animals. You’ve done a great job!
Thanks x
