After our less than fabulous start to the day, I was determined to have some happy time with Bubba when we got home. To avoid any issues getting in the car, I dropped the car at home and walked around to pick her up from day care, thinking she might like to walk home.
She was very happy to see me when I got to day care and threw her arms around me and held me tight. I got kisses and cuggles. When it came time to walk home she wanted to be carried. Absolutely okay with me, more time holding her lovely little person as close as I could.
When we got home, there was a package at our front door. She picked it up and I asked her who it was for. Mumma. She was right, and it was from her.
Of course, it wasn’t really from her, but the thought was so incredibly thoughtful that I was moved to tears {again}. One of my lovely mother’s group friends Michelle had left me a box of salted caramel macarons. Adriano Zumbo macarons. He’s the king of macarons, by the way. How lucky are we to have such lovely friends, and mummas who understand exactly what I’m going through.
I didn’t hide them quickly enough and Love Bug wanted what was in the box. I managed to get only one out of the box and hide the rest. So Bubba and I sat down together and I split the macaron. Cheers she said, having her first taste of macaron. Followed very quickly by nice and yummy.
The evening wasn’t entirely smooth, but the little blip before bedtime was made so much easier knowing we’d had such a lovely afternoon together.
Thank you Michelle. Your random act of kindness really made my day.
