On Tuesday night I started a list of things for our weekend: buy Bubba new winter shoes. I commented to Bubba we will probably need to buy some more things on the weekend and she said yes mumma, milk for Mary’s … Mary is her carer and we always buy fresh milk on the weekend for the next week at day care.
I was putting a new bin liner in our kitchen trash. They come on a roll. As I unrolled a bag and tore it off, Bubba called for Beary. Come Bear Bear, you okay, just rubbish. Beary is terrified of the sound of shaking out a plastic bag. I dread to think why but ever since he came to live with us he’s cowered if a plastic bag is shaken. Treat packs are different of course, but trash bags are a no go zone. Apparently Love Bug not only knows that, but also knows to soothe him if I’m about to use one.
She’s so young and yet so perceptive. Empathetic too. I have seen so many instances in the past week – I really should keep notes.
I may burst with pride. She really is growing up to be totally in touch with the world around her.
Bless her little cotton socks!

I feel ya, BearBear. I’m not afraid of plastic bags, but bring out a balloon or send a golf cart past my window and I need some soothing, big time. Good you have Bubba to take care.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I know another doggy afraid of balloons!!
But Bear never was scared of plastic bags that I can ever remember. In fact I remember him once shredding one to get the papers inside, I still have his puppy teeth marks in an old diary from that – haha.
Poor Beary.
Love Kel-Lou xx
On his terms they’re okay – the noise of shaking one out terrifies him though. He sends you big Beary cuddles!! xox
Bubba is amazing for her age…Well done to both of you!
Miss Molly absolutely hates champagne bottles and the POP they make. So much so that when this one friend comes around – who loves champagne and often brings one over – Molly will hide. But once the glasses are out on the table she’s the life of the party again. Weird. She can also tell the difference between a wine bottle and a champagne bottle. My clever girl.
I love that she knows the difference between champagne and wine – clever girl!
That’s really sweet of her to try to soothe Beary!
It was a heart stopping moment for this mumma!
