The importance of friendship

I sat in a church packed to the rafters yesterday at a funeral service to farewell Charlie.

Everyone who spoke – in the church and at the wake – spoke of the most important part of his life: friendships. He worked hard at them his whole {too-short} life.

The crowd, the stories, the tears and the laughter were all testament to that.

In Charlie’s honour I am going to spend more time reaching out to my friends. Picking up the phone to talk not just text or email. Catching up for a coffee/wine and a hug.

Charlie’s service was just the reminder I needed.
