The Silence Breakers

Time magazine’s editor in chief, Edward Felsenthal, said in an interview on the [US] Today show on Wednesday that the #MeToo movement represented the “fastest-moving social change we’ve seen in decades, and it began with individual acts of courage by women and some men too.”
That Time named the voices who have spoken out against sexual harassment as ‘person’ of the year is a step in the right direction. It is a cultural shift for a better future.
But it is also a scratch on the surface. Our fight needs to continue. The movement needs to gather more attention. Sexual harassment and abuse are prolific – in every corner of the world, in every conceivable situation.

We need to keep talking until our voices are not only heard, but respected.
We need to continue to be the change. We need to stand up for our mothers, sisters, friends and daughters.
