HELP!

I think this is the first time I’ve ever posted twice in one day, and I have tears in my eyes as I type this.

One of my dear friends recently lost her mumma to cancer. As well as leaving behind her broken-hearted daughter, she also left two beautiful Border Collies: Cilla and Jessie.

Cilla and Jessie 2012

Very sad circumstances mean that my friend is looking to rehome these two beauties. With the loss of her mumma so recent, she can barely think about it – so I’m doing this in the hope that someone, somewhere in Australia (they are currently in Sydney, New South Wales) will have a home to offer these gorgeous pups – together.

Both girls are 13. They are friendly with people, including children. Despite her years, Cilla is a bit silly and can be clumsy so not really suited to a home with littlies.

They need to be rehomed together. They have not known a life apart, and with the loss of their mumma they’re currently feeling very lost. Ideally they will find a home without other cats and dogs, but with owners who will give them all the love and care they have enjoyed so far in life. And get it back ten fold.

Well behaved girls with a good level of training, they are a little unsettled at the moment because of what they’re going through.

If you have a place in your heart (and home) for these lovely grown up puppies, please comment below, or you can email me at doghousedesign@hotmail.com and I will put you in touch with my friend.

Please share this post on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, email it to your friends. Anything you can do to help would be most appreciated.

I can’t type any more.

I can’t see the screen for my tears.

[Post script: Sadly, Cilla went to Rainbow Bridge on 2 January 2013. You can read about it here, but I’m sending you there with a tissue warning.]

If I didn’t have my cat I would really consider taking them. I have ‘shared’ this story on my FB profile. Let’s hope they find a wonderful home. They are inside dogs are they? House trained?

    1. Thank you so much for sharing! They are both inside dogs and house trained. If I wasn’t a single mother with two big dogs already, I would take them too. If I win the lotto tonight … no, if I win the lotto tonight I’ll make sure they can stay with my friend!

  10. What beautiful girls – they remind me of my dog, Soda so much.
I will keep sharing on Facebook and will do anything to ensure they find a loving home.
Some of the rescues mentioned above are brilliant. I will share with Toby the Wonderdog’s page as well – there are a lot of Border Collie lovers on there. Feel free to email me if I can support in any other way. I want to make sure these girls get a loving home ASAP xxx

Hi, On your behalf I contacted Second Chance Animal Rescue. Marisa was very kind and got back to me, she asked me to pass along her contact details so you may contact her directly on 0421 418 448 and she will see if she can help, thanks and good luck to the pups, they deserve to live out their years in comfort. Hi I’ve contacted Second Chance Animal Rescue on your behalf and heard back from Marisa who is interested in speaking to you to see if she can help. Please contact her directly on 0421 418 448 to see if she can help these beautiful pups, thanks Karyn x

    1. Thank you so much, what a wonderful thing you’ve done for Cilla & Jessie. Will contact Marisa today. xx

      1. KSouder says:

You’re very welcome, it’s the least I could do. Good luck to you and them! 🙂

  17. KSouder says:

Hi. I was just wondering how you went, if Second Chance was able to help?

    1. Unfortunately no-one my friend or I spoke to has been able to help – yet! Cilla & Jessie are at the moment staying with some friends on the NSW South Coast. This will get us through the next week or two and hopefully something positive will happen then. Unfortunately I know the reality is that all of the rescue groups are going to get more, not less, busy in the coming month or two when people realise that pets are a lifetime commitment and not a toy. If only they realised that upfront! Thanks for checking in.

      1. KSouder says:

I’m so very sorry to hear this as it must be very distressing for you and the pups. I’ll put my thinking cap on and see if I can come up with another group that may be able to help. 🙂

  18. KSouder says:

Hi… Ive been told that Hunter Rescue may be able to help and if the are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated they can be listed on petrescue.com.au where they will be exposed to a much wider audience. Cheers!

    1. Thanks. I’ll have a chat with my friend today 🙂

  19. Cilla & Jessie update – don’t read on the bus though if you’re anything like me! http://wp.me/p1m5Gv-11Y
