The lovely Deanna and her gang over at For the Love of My Dogs are wonderful advocates for {and a family of} rescue pets.
Deanna has started an interview series with families who have adopted rescue or shelter pets and my precious Bella was her first interviewee!ย How lucky we are and how fabulous for Bella!
Too many pets in this world are surrendered to shelters and nowhere near enough of them are rehomed. I was looking on sites with dogs on death row when I found Bella – and those of you who know us, either in person or via the world of blogs, know how incredibly important she is to me. She’s the eldest of my three gorgeous kids and she taught me unconditional love, kindness and forgiveness. There are hundreds of thousands of dogs just as precious as Bella in shelters around the world waiting for someone to give them a fur-ever home and family.
I wish all people who were considering a pet would at least tour their local shelter and meet the furry loves there before they made the decision on where to find their new family member.
Enough from me. This post is about my now internationally famous fuzzy soul mate.
Enjoy Deanna’s interview with Bella – and while you’re there, subscribe to or follow Deanna’s great blog so you can read future interviews with other loved up pups!
Thank you Deanna. For being a great blogger and a voice for the voiceless! x
Your interview was wonderful, Bella! Congratulations! Mom and I read it this morning. Next week, I will also be internationally famous. Is it fun? It seems fun. I wonder if I’ll get treats…..
Hi Cupcake
It is great fun, although Mumma didn’t give me extra treats (unless you count the crusts from Bubba’s toast?) so I’ll have to go ask her about that. It’s just good to spread the word about how wonderful rescue pups are! Unfortunately, not all breeders are as caring as Chuck (http://colliesofthemeadow.wordpress.com/) about their puppies long after their puppies have fur-ever homes.

Wow!
What a wonderfully kind compliment! Thank you….. ๐ Please, everyone, always consider re-homing or rescuing a animal. If we all did we could help them all. We have taken in 10 collies who needed homes through the years and have given a home to 13 cats who had no home through the years. We do all we can do to help these poor animals. Remember, if you cannot take in any animals please donate to no-kill shelters or to a local shelter near you everyone… They are all precious…. pure bred or not… all they want is love and well, love doesn’t cost you a dime… only your time… ๐
Thank you again for your kind words… ๐
Lots of Collie Hugs,
The Collies and Chuck ๐
Great post! We think touring a shelter first before buying from a breeder or pet store is a wonderful idea! Every time I’m there, I find at least 10 I want to take home with me ๐
Great post and great interview Bella ๐
Wow! Congratulations Bella. I shall check out Deannaโs interview.
My person says she’s afraid to visit the shelter because she might come home with a brother or sister for me. I told her that was okay until she said that brother or sister could be a cat.
That is one great interview and we give a huge thumbs up and big cheer to FOR THE LOVE OF MY DOGS! ๐ They do a great job and we love them. To those who read this, please consider adopting a homeless pet. The love you receive surpass anything you can imagine. One thing that is wonderful about the internet is that we have friends who have a pet get away, or have found a pet or know of pets who need homes and we all get on facebook to get the word out. It is amazing how the word gets around so quickly. So, if you can’t take in a pet you can help them in many ways… ๐
Great post and…
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!! Lots of Hugs from the Collies!

Our friend Cupcake was interviewed today! Cupcake has achieved so much – what an inspiration!

No dog (or cat) loves you as much as a rescue. And the satisfaction and reward that you get from the first day they adopt you to many years later is immense. I have two rescues, my girls Leisel 14 and Baby Harriet 8 and they are beautiful. Every day we are stopped many times by people commenting on how beautiful they are. I am very lucky, they rescued me.
