Sharing spit

(Warning: this may be another gross post.)

Bubba drinks her water from a toddler cup (complete with lid and straw to lessen the likelihood of spillage). More and more, however, when I have a glass of water, she reaches both of her gorgeous little hands out and wraps them around my glass, bringing the glass tentatively to her face.

I drink a lot of water so there’s no point having a small glass. Because of this, the glass is usually about the size of Bubba’s head. So much so that if she tipped the whole thing over herself it would probably negate the need for her bath that evening. Alas, she’s very gentle with it and tips the glass just so to take a sip of my water.

Then she backwashes. (That may be the gross bit, or it may just be the precursor to the immature gross bit further on.)

Tiny little bubbles of Bubba saliva go backwashing along the top of my water. Which she then proudly pushes toward my mouth for me to take a sip.

Oh yeah Bubba, I love sharing your spit. Only another 10 years or so of that ahead of me.

Lucky I love you so.

Beary is standing beside us when this happens. He burps. Bubba looks at him then me. She opens her mouth and grrrrrrs (her fake burp). Yep, I’m proud. And yep, that was the gross immature bit (me, not her)!

  3. LOL!!!! Ah yes, burping! It is so fun.. loved the backwash too… mmmmmmm….. wish we were still living that… 🙂 By the way, how do you know if a collie loves you.. why they walk up to you and let loose a huge burp in your face.. hehehehe…..
As for immature… well… I used to burp with them….. urging them to burp louder… then try to teach them not to do that outside of the home.. not successful at first.. hehehe

    Your friends,
    the collies and chuck 😉
