Just a few more hours in hospital

So last night, we spent just a few more hours in hospital. I’m thinking Bubba must have liked the cot (which looked like an antique wrought iron one), or maybe the bracelet, or the special toe sticker which said ‘adult’ and took up half her foot?

Or maybe she just wanted to hang out with the world’s best grandma again?

Finally though, after almost 24 hours of refusing to eat and drink – a few hours into our visit back to the pediatric ward – Love Bug had a few mouthfuls of pureed apple and a few sips of drink. This was enough for doctors to be happy with because her hydration levels were good. Thankfully she usually drinks lots of water and eats lots of fruit and vegetables so had some in reserves!

The alternate I don’t think mumma could have coped with, particularly after the previous night’s episode. When they are so little, to rehydrate them the tube them via their throat to their tummies. Bubba and I have seen enough tubes for quite some time thank you very much!

She had a chest x-ray because she’d had pneumonia when she was 7 months, and they found a virus on her right lung. Nothing some medicine won’t fix, but with ears, throat, lung, teething and UTI – little wonder poor Bubba hasn’t quite been herself.

Thank you to all of you who have sent messages of love and support – I’ve given her all of your extra cuddles and kisses – and about 84 million more! We really appreciate you caring, and promise to catch up with you all soon. Just after mumma catches up on her real job, spends some time with Bella & Beary, gets the house back into some sort of order.

Should be some time around mid-2015!

Oh bubba you poor little girl (and poor mumma). It’s awful when our precious babies are sick and hurting. We have had a couple of trips to the hospital with my bub and both times i’ve got to the front desk and the poor nurse or doctor has had to try and figure out what i’m saying as i blubba away. I hope she recovers quickly and you both get some rest, big hugs for bubba πŸ™‚
