Last night when we got home, Bubba was singing and dancing in my room, and chatting away happily to Bella, Beary and me.
At one point she went and stood in front of the mirror and had a good chat to the girl in there. Then she stretched her arms out, grasped the side of the mirror as if to give it a cuddle, and gave the girl in the mirror a kiss.
I reached my phone just in time to get this slightly off kilter photo post kiss, where she threw her head back and laughed.
Teaching her love, kindness, acceptance, happiness and to be gentle – I’m hoping those traits stay with her no matter what life throws at her.
I hope my baby girl always loves the girl she sees in the mirror, and that any number of years from now she would do the same with such reckless joy and abandon.

You’re so beautiful in the mirror, Bubba! Whenever I look in there I see a little mutt with a crooked face and bucky teeth. It scares the daylights out of me!
