Every morning I dress Bubba and go on an inevitable dig.
For her spencer. Which has bunched up under her arm while I’m putting on her long-sleeved t-shirt. Of course, this is not Bubba’s favourite thing to endure.
Since she was a newborn, she’s hated anything being put over her head. If you were standing outside our house at any time while I was dressing her, you could be forgiven for thinking I was trying to harm my child, not just dress her.
I’m looking forward to winter being over. To the germs being gone. And to not having to dig for her spencer each morning.
Maybe I should invent one with holes near the hand opening to anchor the spencer to her thumb to while I put her longer tops on?

Is there some game you can devise where she can hold the sleeve somehow and ‘Pop’ when it is done. There is always something they don’t like about dressing though.
I’ve tried all sorts of things in the past 18 months, but she is just not a fan. As you say, there will always be something – it keeps a mumma on her toes!
Spencer? Is that like an undershirt?
Yes, also known as a singlet. Most of Bubba’s are actually onesies 🙂
isnt it so much fun when they hate that? We eventually gave them a cookie or something they liked when we got done so eventually they figured it was a snack time when it happened, no matter how much they hated it.. just and idea. 🙂 You have a wonderful blog and we love reading it. She sure is growing up fast! 🙂
Nice to hear from you guys 🙂
Aha – spencer = onesie! My daughter also hated stuff over her head. We moms gotta do what we gotta do to keep those little ones warm though. As my kid got older, she would dress the dogs and cats in her old onesies. Poor animals.
LOL – love it! Bella would probably be okay with it, Beary seems to know just the right moment to make his getaway.
Yes they all (at lest the ones I’ve dressed) hate things being pulled over their head. to tell the truth its not my favorite thing either, especially if it also hard to get back off. Do they have one with snaps at the shoulder so you could keep most of her face out and just pull it over the back?
Sorry Bella getting dressed is just not fun sometimes:(
We’ve tried all sorts of things. At most it’s 30 seconds each day (well, unless she’s being a real octopus) so we’ll be okay. If only we were perfectly dressed for every occasion without having to think about it – like dogs are!
I like the sound of your invention! 🙂
