Bella and Beary usually jump up on my bed to hang out while Bubba has her morning bottle and I try to dress her while she’s distracted.
Lately, if one of them isn’t on the bed with us within about 5 seconds, Bubba looks around with a concerned look on her gorgeous little face, puts her hands out (palms up as if to ask where they are) and calls Beeba or Beary. They don’t need any more encouragement and come bounding in from wherever they were.
When we leave for work and day care she cuddles them if they’re within reach – or if they’re already on the deck having a treat, she waves to them and blows them kisses.
I’ve had the luxury of driving to work the past month or so, but my boss is back today – and he wasn’t so keen on taking the bus – so it’s back to the public transport for mumma.
The best part of that is Bubba is still small enough (although only for another month or two I imagine) for the baby carrier, so we snuggled up against the winter morning chill, and headed off, pointing out all the things we pass and having a chat. This morning I got lovely arm pats for the duration of our brief walk to day care.
And when we got just inside the gate I got some huge giggly cuddles.
What a great way to start our day!
