So happy together

What an absolutely wonderful weekend.

Bubba is so there, so present, so interested and curious, so engaged and so engaging. I know she always has been, but she seems particularly so now. If others are laughing, she will laugh. If she wants to hold your attention, one of her current methods is to hold your gaze then giggle.

There is so much learning and change happening that I almost want to write a bullet point list so that I don’t miss anything!

Bubba was given The Tigger Movie by a friend and as soon as it came on she sought out her Winnie the Pooh book, found the Tigger page and showed me. She has done the same with our Guess How Much I Love You book when the cartoon came on television.

Packing her bath toys up just before she got out of the bath, she was giving them each a kiss. Then, out of nowhere she said fish as she kissed the fish (there are a variety of sea creatures!) and kept going.

In our stroll around the organic markets, Bubba was sharing her sunny disposition and love, waving at all of the dogs and people, even blowing kisses to some of the puppies.

She has taken to running towards me at full toddler speed, giggling, then stopping just before she gets to me and running away. She also stomps her feet while she’s doing it – which makes me think I must sound louder to her when I’m running!

Beary seems finally okay with Bubba cuddles on her terms. At night now, he doesn’t shimmy away when she pats him after her bottle, and a few nights recently, he’s stayed very still as Bubba has crawled over to wrap her arms as far around him as they’ll go for goodnight loves.

While she’s always been fascinated with her own belly, Bubba has taken every possible opportunity if I’m laying near her to pull my shirt up to blow raspberries on  my back or tummy. Then, instead of just pulling my shirt down again, she wanders off to get one of her blankies (or a teatowel if there’s one handy – these are quite often used as blankies for her teddies) to cover me up and keep me warm.

We spent a beautiful couple of hours in the sunshine at a gorgeous big harbourside park on Saturday morning – Bubba, my sister, our aunty and a couple of my cousins. My cousin’s lovely boyfriend (uncle Christopher) took lots of gorgeous photos (including those in yesterday’s post) but he also took some video during the morning. I’ve included some of my favourite screen shots below.

I’m not usually a fan of video, but he put pieces of it together and laid the track Happy Together over the top. Bubba loves watching it and I absolutely love it. Not the least of which because it’s one of the songs I sing to Bubba.

It feels like it should be the title track to our lives right now. Or at least on the sound track!
