Spots and lines

No, I’m not talking about pimples and wrinkles, but since you’ve mentioned it I’d like to state for the record how unfair it is to have to deal with both at the same time?! Seriously, once you grow up and have to look at wrinkles when you look in the mirror, you should never have to see another pimple again.

But I digress.

Bubba has freckles. Yep, freckles plural. As in two freckles. And they are so cute! I wasn’t really sure for a few days whether that’s what they were. All I knew is that they weren’t washing off! She comes from a long line of freckled people, so it really was only a matter of time before they showed up. I’m not sure where this saying comes from, but I saw it a long time ago: a face without freckles is like a sky without stars.

I tried to take photos of her freckles, but no matter how close up I got they either went into hiding or the photos were blurry. Of all the attempted photos showing proof of freckle existence, this is my favourite photo in which you can’t see them! Those pyjamas kill me. As does her ridonculously gorgeous face. But you already knew that.

So I’ve mapped out where they are. Near her hair-line above her left eye, and just below her right lashes. Just in case we thought she couldn’t get any cuter!

She also has creases in her skin. Creases that are not just folds of newborn skin, but marks that stay even when you move. I suppose it’s our body’s way of showing it’s lived in. So far I’ve noticed them behind her knees and under her arms.

Who knew they’d ever be considered cute?
