Ouchie, but still no num num

Bubba has sore gums. They’ve been hurting her all weekend.

I know this because apart from the redness in her cheeks, she has been gnawing on anything available to her. Her poor little fingers have had bite marks in them, and each time I’ve offered her gel for her gums she’s chomped down on my fingers too.

When I went to get her out of bed, she’d undone her little gro bag and was chomping on the edge of it.

In (and out of) the bath, she has been gnawing on her rubbery bath toys.

And then last night, when I gave her some pain relief, she kept the dropper and sat chewing on it until she’d completely destroyed it. At which point she came to me and offered it up as if I might fix it.

I almost caved on Saturday and gave her the num num (dummy/binkie), but we’ve come so far (ten whole days without it now!) that I didn’t want to start the habit again.

So: dear toothie pegs, please just hurry up and cut through so I can have my happy bubba back with no sore gums. Thanks!

  1. Did you try freezing a wet washcloth? It’s good to chew and will numb the pain. So will some whiskey…. But, um… No. …that wouldn’t be a good idea. 🙂

    1. Frozen wet washcloth for Bubba, whiskey for mumma – got it! x

  2. Poor darling and poor Mumma too. Have you ever tried homeopathics with Bubba? Most people either love them or hate them. Belladonna is often great during teething when there is much redness in the face and swollen gums. Sending well wishes to you all, hope that tooth comes through soon!

    1. Thanks – I always try homeopathic remedies first! I’ll look out for some Belladonna on my way home.

  3. Poor bubba and poor Mumma’s fingers!
