High five

Bubba and I have always counted. Just like we point out colours. And names of things.

We count fingers, toes, paws, ears, steps, stairs, cars, blocks, books, loveys, noses, tails, pieces of fruit, mouthfuls of dinner, puppies … well, you get the picture.

Math has never been my strong suit. Lucky for her, there are people in our family for whom it is. And apparently her donor daddy loves it too, so there’s some hope from her – just not from her mumma!

Imagine my delight last night when this happened. I was in the kitchen preparing her dinner, simultaneously watching her play at her little table. She was playing with her pretend kitchen pieces, rolling out biscuits (no doubt there are some things she definitely inherited from her mumma!) when she started counting them.

One.

Two.

Tree.

Four.

Fibe.

Woo hoo! Way to go Bubba. I’m so so proud.

Proud to the power of five!

(ps – Thanks Mel for inspiring the title of this post!)

I love this! I can remember when I used to count everything… why don’t I do that anymore?
