The kind of love that, although your time on earth might be relatively brief in the scheme of things, often surpasses those years spent together in the same sphere and lives forever in your heart.

The kind of love that loves you in return despite your human frailties and failings.

The kind of love that makes you overlook the loss of a favourite shoe (or couch)!

The kind of love that overlooks morning breath and will attempt to kiss you no matter what state you’re in.

The kind of love that sees past wrinkles. Or rather doesn’t see them at all.

The kind of love that overlooks disabilities.

The kind of love that everyone deserves.

The kind of love that overwhelms the giver and receiver.

The kind of love that you get for as many years as you open your heart to an adopted pet.

This Valentine’s day, do your heart a real favour. Welcome four paws and a wagging tail into it. Your heart will thank you.

So will that wagging tail. Every single time you come home to them. The home that you’ve given them.

Wherever you are in the world, there are pets who are old, young, pure bred, mutts, bitsas and everything in between just waiting for the love of their life to find them.
