Not your traditional game of fetch

Beary and I had some 1 on 1 time yesterday. We went to the off leash dog park, just the two of us. What a treat in the middle of the day.

I took the chuck-it so he could run to his heart’s content chasing the ball further than I could ever hope to throw it using my not-so-fabulous throwing skills.

So what happened? We played fetch all right, just not your traditional game of fetch.

Mumma threw the ball. Mumma fetched the ball. Mumma threw the ball. Mumma fetched the ball. Again. And again. And again.

Beary did some running for sure, just mostly chasing mumma chasing the ball.

an oldie but a favourite

Oh, and he sniffed and peed on pretty much every blade of grass in the park. And he found the one puddle for a little paw muddying too.

We both left exhausted.

Which was half the idea!

  1. I am finally learning to fetch! But Beary is forgetting how to fetch… What went wrong, here?

    Love and licks,

    1. I don’t know Cupcake! Bella loves fetch, although her version tends to be Bella fetch, Bella keep the ball. They keep me on my toes. x

What a fun time! That’s how I play fetch too.

    1. Maybe it’s a Malamute thing?!

Probably. When I used to go to daycare, my favorite person Alison said one day I played fetch with her and she had no idea I knew how. Jen told her I always knew how, but never wanted to.

  3. You both sound like you had a wonderful day … love one on one time with huMum!

So good that you got some dog time. It is so funny because my dogs do that too and I get tired of playing by myself.

    1. And then I still got the ‘why are we leaving the park so soon’ look?!
