Don’t be too quick to judge …

This is an {almost} wordless Wednesday mystery. It would be easy to blame Bella for the less than fuzzy tennis ball just by looking at these photos.

did bella do it

But one should never be too quick to judge. Look what’s lurking by Beary’s left paw.

what tennis ball fluff? i can't see the fluff

What fluff mumma? I’ve got my eyes closed, I can’t see anything.

Hmm … maybe we need Scooby Doo to help us solve this mystery!

I feel that your advice may be invaluable – I’m on my way to becoming a choice mama but one of my biggest concerns is coping with a baby and my energetic dog. I have a golden retriever, he’s loveable and not got a nasty bone in his body but he’s got so much energy that I am concerned about how I will cope with him and a child and both of their demands on my own – I’m imagining it’s like having multiple children! Did you find it hard to adjust with balancing needs for your dogs as well as having a new baby?

    1. I’m not going to lie, the dogs definitely get less exercise than they used to – although Bubba is almost big enough for us all to go to the dog park together again. I make sure I have puppy time each night once Bubba goes to bed – no matter how long my list of things to do is, I brush them & throw the ball in the back yard. I bought a CD of baby noises that I played before I had her; I let them sniff everything I bought for her and when I had her I sent her and my clothes home from the hospital with our smells on them {even a couple of nappies}. When we came home from hospital my sister stayed outside with Bubba for a few minutes while I had my hellos with them and then she brought Bubba in as a gift for us. I read a lot about it to know to do all of those things. They just adore her and have since day 1. They haven’t shown any signs of fretting other than Bella getting very territorial of our home & Beary being wherever I am/sleeping near Bubba whenever she’s sleeping. Very long answer but hopefully that will appease your worries. Oh, and I have a DAP diffuser that releases puppy pheromones to help keep them calm. X

Thanks for replying! My main concern has been his exercise – we go out 3 times a day at the moment, 5am, 4pm and 9pm and the thought of taking a baby out to do all of that is overwhelming. Those are great tips for introducing him to baby. I’m sure he will be great, he loves and protects any visiting babies and children but you can never be too careful

      2. When she was little enough I would take them out walking individually with her in the baby bjorn carrier but when she got too big for that it just got too hard. It’s worth getting a dog walker at least a couple of times each week to take him out for a big run and play at a dog park with other dogs to really wear him out.

  2. They may be double-teaming the poor innocent tennis balls!
