Today is a new day

If we’re Facebook pals, you’ll already know that last night I threw myself a little pity party. I find myself looking for a new job. I know it will be okay. I know I will find something that suits my little family. Eventually.

Last night though, this happened. Wine, cheese and salted caramel ice cream {accompanied by another glass of wine}. During my little party, a few lovely friends checked in to make sure I was okay.

Today is a new day

Today is a different story. Today is a new day. This morning I got to have extra cuddles with my three loves. I didn’t set my alarm {not that I seem to need it most days anyway – either Love Bug or I are usually awake before it goes off}.

Today is a precious gift. I don’t currently have care for Love Bug on Wednesdays, so today she and I have had cuddles, done a puzzle, chatted about being trains who can fly through the sky. We’ve given Bella and Beary lots of extra cuddles.

We’re going to go to the mid-week farmer’s market and then to the new trampoline jumping centre that hasn’t yet opened near us. When we were originally invited, I didn’t think we’d be able to go because of work. See, what a gift?!

Tomorrow I will sort out my phone, send out my CV and get a little more organised. I have one meeting lined up for Friday already. But today? Today I’m going to be thankful for the time out.

Happy Hump Day. I hope you get to enjoy your day as much as I’m going to. But if you’re having a day like I had yesterday, just remember:ย tomorrow is a new day!

Sorry to hear your news but very pleased to see you throw yourself the pity party. I have followed your blog for some time and look forward to reading it everyday. I have a niece the same age as your daughter and two small children myself (including my own little Love Bug Saffron who joined us on Valentines Day this year). Redundancy is tough and IMO definitely deserves a pity party. l was made redundant a few weeks ago. I really hope this provides you with an opportunity to find a role that you enjoy. Anyway just wanted to say good luck with the job hunt.

PS. l think you are doing a fabulous job with your little girl. She is a very lucky little girl to have you as her mummy.

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to write. I hope you’ve found something fabulous too … although I’m sure you’d rather be home with your Love Bug! I just haven’t found anyone yet who would like to pay me to stay home ๐Ÿ™‚ x

Hi, I really enjoy reading your blog. You should have a look at becoming a virtual assistant, there are a lot of opportunities out there and you can work from home and get paid. I’ve been doing it now for about 4 years and it gives me the opportunity to earn money, play with my kids, do my washing, shopping and cooking all at the same place! Best of all, in winter I get to wear my slippers all day ๐Ÿ™‚ Let me know if you’d like some more information. ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. Thank you! I have definitely thought about it, but just worry it wouldn’t make me enough money … if you have any tips, I’d love it if you emailed me letsgetmummaajob {at} hotmail {dot} com. ๐Ÿ™‚
