Let’s get mumma a job

Friends, today I am going to ask you to do something for me. Consider it your random act of kindness for the day. Please share this post on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and anywhere else you think it might get some traffic. After all, you never know who you know who might know someone whose world would be better if I worked in it! Use the hashtag #letsgetmummaajob and let’s see if, together, we can find me a fabulous job.

But what does mumma do?
I have been a c-suite {working at CEO/Chairman level} Executive Assistant for the last number of years, with 10 months off when Love Bug came into the world. My background also includes generalist human resources, national administration manager and recruitment, along with more junior EA roles in my earlier career. I have worked in a variety of industries and in businesses that employ 6 people through to those who employ in excess of 300,000.

What would she like to do next?
Ideally I would either continue in an EA role at c-suite level; or manage an admin team {this would be a great way to use my combined experience to date and my love of mentoring}. We live in Sydney, Australia but don’t let that stop you from sharing this post. People I’ve worked with in the last few years have spent an inordinate amount of time travelling in other parts of the world so I’m used to working remotely. Relocation is also something that I’d consider for the right opportunity.

What do other people say about mumma?
People mumma have worked with have had these things to say about her: pro-active; happy; approachable; exceptional; good-humoured; tenacious; works tirelessly; earned the respect of those around her; quickly builds networks; communicates well; well organised; she adds real strength to our team; great mentor; professional; fun.

Love Bug says: I love your face mumma; you’re funny and we love cuggling, reading books and doing cooking together. Bella says very little, but the look of love says it all. Beary says woo woo woo.

That all sounds fabulous, but is there anything she needs to work on?
If you hear a rustling at my desk you can be fairly certain I’m snacking on something sweet.

Has mumma received any awards?
I’m so glad you asked. My dedication won me an Outstanding Achievement Award for Employee of the Year; and my passion for mentoring saw me nominated as an Inspiring Woman {as a mentor and working mother} in another role.

What does mumma do in her spare time?
Ha ha, what is this spare time you speak of? As Love Bug pointed out I do love reading, cooking, and writing of course. I’m a vegetarian foodie and have a genuine interest in children’s nutrition. I believe in being kind to the planet and those we share it with. I love wandering around farmers’ markets and going home with a basket laden with fresh produce. Despite having a generally great diet, life is too short to not eat chocolate and drink Pinot.

Occasionally I even get out of the house.

I have no idea who you are but just from reading this small blog post, I think you would suit my job brilliantly. I am a Tupperware manager and love what I do. Before you think “I could never do Tupperware” just hear me out. I have 3 uni degrees and have worked as a dietitian and currently a high school science teacher. I was given the opportunity to join Tupperware while on maternity leave and did it JUST FOR FUN and here I am 15 months later and have turned that hobby into a successful business from home inspiring others to do the same!
I read at the top of your blog “single by chance, mother by choice” I too am a single mum and with your permission will take on that quote as it suits my life perfectly. Please feel free to email me for more information. But take it from me, this is the best job I have ever had and it’s a business from home so I can still spend that quality time with my gorgeous 21month old daughter!
