Puppy Love

If Love Bug could paint, draw or follow some kind of creative pursuit all day long she would. Creating pieces is her happy place – when she’s creating for someone else’s enjoyment, it’s even better.

The Art Gallery of NSW has an age-division Kids Drawing competition. This year’s theme:  draw an animal that’s important to you. Size was set at A3, and artists could use a variety of materials. They then had to name their creation and write an explanation of the piece.

When Grandma mentioned this competition, Love Bug’s eyes lit up. I’m going to draw Beary and Bella. I wouldn’t have won any money betting on that one!

This is her piece: Puppy Love

Her description: Beary is thinking about our lovely dog Bella. He is sad missing her and thinking about how much he loves her.

Materials: pencil and watercolour.

I’m so proud of her.

{ps I’m not crying – there’s something in my eye}

    She did such a wonderful job remembering Bella in heaven and showing how Beary misses her. Showing her feeling through them also. Such a wonderful job and so much love and maturity 💞

    Do you still only have Beary? I know it has been devastating for Love Bug and you, I’m so very sorry. How is Beary doing?

    1. We all have our good days and bad days. Still just us girls and Beary. I’ve introduced him to a couple of rescues but so far he’s not overly keen. I worry that he’s lonely during the day because he always had Bella. It would break my heart to trial a rescue dog then have to send them away if it didn’t work out.

  3. It’s beautiful! The love, hope, warmth, and sadness all shine through. What a sweetie.

    Perhaps all kids have such beautiful souls, I don’t know. However I know Poppy has a beautiful soul
