Okay, enough with the suspense …

16:42 Monday 17 May 2010 – alone in my hotel room {Crown Towers Melbourne, room 1718} and I got the call I’ve been longing for forever {well, it seems that long … at least}.

Due date: 21 January 2010 {what a lovely early birthday present}. I have my first scan on 8 June at the fertility clinic when I’ll be 7 weeks, after which I can go back to seeing my gynaecologist – who will now become my obstetrician after all of these years – woo hoo, he’s going to be so excited.

Yay, yay, yay. I called mum to tell her. Not news you really want to share over the phone, but I just had to say it out loud. Then I cried. And, like any excitable girl in a hotel room, I jumped up and down on the bed laughing and crying. Until my nausea tapped me on the shoulder again and slowed me down a little.

I really really really wish my little sister wasn’t in England, but I’m going to pick her up on Thursday night at the airport with a WELCOME HOME AUNTY sign. There will be tears!

I know it’s super early and there’s a long stretch between today and everything being safe but I am uber excited. Now, off to work dinner to try to keep a straight face, not tell anyone and not drink.

Yeah, that’s going to be easy …

That’s got to be difficult, to keep the secret from work. But what fun! What a long, crazy ride you are in for. It’s awesome, you’ll love it.
