Some mornings, I sit on the floor with Bubba in my lap facing me and I feed her breakfast. Sure, I know she should be in her high chair, but there are going to be years and years where she can (and will be happy/want to) sit on her own and have her breakfast.
For now, I’m soaking up as much closeness as I can. And this is one of the ways.
While happy to have her breakfast sitting in my lap, Bubba has decided that every 3 or 4 mouthfuls it is a nice idea to lean in and give me a cuddle. Sometimes she uses the gentle approach, and sometimes she just launches herself at me, giggling. The latter can be a little tricky if the bowl of porridge is in the way.
But I don’t care. I don’t care if I have porridge in my hair. Or on the dogs. Or if I discover it stuck under my chin hours later when I’m at work (yes, this did happen to me earlier this week). I don’t care because my divine Bubba is giving me her love. With everything she has. That, my friends, is pure bliss.
My Love Bug hugs are a good seguay to my next post – tomorrow, I’ll graciously accept our HUG award (bestowed upon us by the gorgeous Misty Shores Chesapeakes crew – http://mistyshoreschesapeakes.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/one-last-award/) and pass it on to those who need a HUG!
Love is love, and soaking it up when it comes your way is always a good idea. Smart Mumma. My Mom is a smart one, too. She lets me kiss her and kiss her even though my breath smells like I’m on a steady diet of sauerkraut and tuna. Love is love…
Love and stinky licks,
Cupcake
Precious moments! Tall person can remember the times when he would arrive at work and realise he had some gooey substance on his tie or shirt – he called it his breakfast takeaway! 🙂
Bubba can get porridge on me anytime.
Not overly keen on porridge, but hugs? Now that’s something else!
A big Collie Hug to the both of you! 🙂
Your friends,
The Collies and Chuck 🙂
