Love is all around us …
(Yep, now you’re singing the tune from Love Actually aren’t you … if you’re not still singing On the Wings of Love that is? Don’t deny it!)
I’m going to start this loved-up post by sharing a little thing Bubba and I are doing right now. At night when she has her pre-bed bottle (some nights I sit with her cradled in my arms, other nights I lay beside her with my legs tucked up and her little legs over the top of mine) I just love to breathe her in. I’ve always loved the smell of her beautiful soft bubba skin. At night, after her bath, in her pyjamas and ready for bed, there’s nothing like it.
She smells like heaven.
One night a couple of weeks ago, I breathed in really deeply. Two short sharp breaths in, then a sigh. Bubba thought this was the funniest thing ever, giggled (spraying us in milk as she did!), mimicked me then stayed statue still and waited for me to do it again. So now it’s a nightly ritual.
When she’s almost done with her bottle, I snuggle even closer and take a couple of short breaths in, then sigh. She copies me. It’s super cute.
Okay, as promised in yesterday’s post, I’d like to thank the Misty Shores Chesapeakes crew – Cheyene, Maia, Riva, The Boys, their Mom (and Titan) for awarding us a The HUG Award© (Hope Unites Globally) award [http://mistyshoreschesapeakes.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/one-last-award/]. They are such beautiful looking dogs, and accomplished too! We love reading their stories and seeing their gorgeous photos and love that they think our blog is deserving of this award.
For all of the awards out there in the blogisphere, I really love what this one stands for. You can read about it here http://ahopefortoday.com/2012/01/14/hope-unites-globally-hug-award-guidelines/.
The HUG award is given to people who ‘use their available resources … to make the world a better place to live‘ for people who have ‘hope or an expectant desire that the work or talents they use in things such as blogging … will make a positive impact on the world‘.
I feel honoured and humbled that my blog speaks to others in that way. It’s what I’d hoped for all along, and it’s what keeps me writing each day.
My first HUG for today goes to a gorgeous girlfriend from my school days, who posted her first blog yesterday. She’s going back to fashion school (at 42 and as a wife and mum of 4!), keeping hope alive that you can follow your dreams at every age and stage of life. A big hug to you lovely! http://42yearoldfashionstudent.wordpress.com/
I feel so privileged to share the lives of each and every one of these bloggers (and their families, both 2- and 4-legged), their lives, loves, hopes, dreams, happiness, sadness and day-to-day fun. I hope you will stop by their blogs if you don’t already. You just never know who you may come to think of as your friends – even if they live on the other side of the world! So, in no particular order, here are my favourite HUG-worthy blogs (heavily mumma/dog themed as you would expect):

Give someone a hug today!
