More farmers’ market love

You know Bubba and I love our Saturday morning wander around the farmers’ market. Well, yesterday was no exception.

Bubba discovered the joys of brioche – warm from the baker at the market. I’m still trying to decide whether it will become brioche bread pudding, or banana French toast with chocolate hazelnut sauce?

There was no way we were getting out of the flower tent without these.

Bubba insisted on carrying them home in the car. Then she carried one stem around for the rest of the day, offering a sniff to anyone who wanted one (and one particular 4-pawed creature who is a little toΒ tough boy for that kind of caper – at least he was yesterday).

Bella got particularly shrouded with flower love.

Some of our produce became Mexican dinner (a first for Bubba and she loved it).

Some became a cake of love – vanilla fudge with lemon chocolate frosting.

Hope you all had/are having a wonderful Saturday!

  4. Very lovely pictures – the picture of Bubba enjoying her first Mexican meal is wonderful. All she needs for total authenticity is a little sombrero πŸ™‚

    Hi Mumma,
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog. I started from the start a week or so ago reading as many as I could per night after putting my little bear to bed.
Now that I have caught up I have to say I miss my nightly reads and feel like a friend is missing from my life ( that is until I receive your offering the next morning).

Although I am not a single mum, my circumstances are so that I see my husband for a very short time period a day and I live no where near my family 😦 so I can totally relate to the highs and lows of being the one and only person to look after my precious girl from morning til night – every nappy change, every bath, every tear….

Reading your story makes me think of my own – it is almost like we have come from the same place- from ivf, (failing the first time and experiencing the rude amd almost uncaring comments from the nurse giving me the news, being an older mum and just loving my daughter with every fibre of my body.

Thanking for sharing warts and all. You not only make me feel normal but like I have a friend who know what I’m going through without evening knowing who I am.

Sending you and Bubba massive hugs.
    Lola’s mum xxxxooo

Ps – thank you also for reigniting the love I have for my two beautiful (old) puppies. Since the arrival of little bear they were a little on the outside but you have reminded me how much they have shared with me pre bubba and they deserve all the love and attention I can give xxoo

    1. Hi Lola’s mumma
Thank you so much for sharing our whole story – that’s quite a commitment! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed our ups and downs and they made you feel like you’ve got someone who understands exactly where you’re coming from. I certainly do. I’m especially glad to have reignited your fuzzy love. They really are amazing – sounds like we’re both lucky to have three goregous creatures in our lives!
I reall appreciate you not only reading our story, but taking the time to write to me – it makes blogging so worthwhile. Give Lola & the fuzzy loves a cuddle from us.

Ooh recipe for lemon chocolate cake please! Sounds divine. I’m enjoying reading through your blog as I am home sick & kids at nanna’s/school.
I love how your dogs haven’t been relegated when you had your daughter, sadly I see that too many times. The once loved dogbaby becomes a nuisance. We adore our mutt!
