It was extra nice to wake up to these gorgeous faces this morning.
Yesterday we had the hottest day ever recorded in Sydney: 45.8 degrees (114.5F) and I really did think at one point we were all going to melt. Spray water bottles, ice cubes, frozen watermelon, lots of water to drink, a cool bath, cold wet towels and t-shirts wrapped around the fuzzy loves. None of it seemed to penetrate the air that was thick with heat. At around 10pm I opened my pantry and was met by a wave of warm air. There was no escaping it.
Thankfully it’s about 20 degrees cooler today, and Bubba’s awful heat rash has all but gone. It seems everyone in our home is wiped out though. Kind of like a heat hangover.
Lucky it’s Saturday and we can have a slow day, just hanging out and enjoying each other’s company.
Maybe those of you who live where it’s snowing could pack some up and send it to us? We could keep it for the next crazy hot day!
Ouch! Too hot!!!
No snow, but so cold and windy today!! Cupcake wore her reindeer fleece coat, and without my gloves, I thought I’d come home with frostbite after she finished sniffing every blade of grass around our building. Glad you’ve got a little break today. Stay cool!
That is HOT!
That is way too hot! I hope the cooler weather continues xx
Sending chilly thoughts your way. Try an oatmeal poultice on the heat rash.
Great tip, thanks 🙂
It’ so crazy to think you have it so warm, while typist is sat here in 5 layers trying to keep warm, as she’s watching the snow fall! You should organise a switch!
It would be nice if we could share 🙂
