Bubba sad

This morning we were at grandma’s for Easter brunch. We’d only been there a few minutes when Bubba started to cry. And by cry I mean wail. Inconsolable.

Eventually my sister took her for a walk around the block. But she was still crying when they came back. She didn’t want to be apart from me. She didn’t want me to put her down. She sat in my lap while we had brunch. I was okay with that. Obviously.

Then, she looked up at me from her snuggled in position on my lap.

Bubba sad.

My heart broke a little. I know she’s not always going to be a happy but I wish so desperately I could protect her from sadness. At least she was able to eventually tell me, even if I don’t know what caused it.

sad

As sad as she was for part of today, she seemed to enjoy the rest of her Easter Sunday and our time spent together. She confirmed she doesn’t like Easter egg chocolate, but she loves her new rabbit {sticking with the original naming theme in our house}: Easter Rabbit.

I guess it’s ‘props’ to her mumma for good taste! (with respect to Easter egg choc) 🙂

There really is nothing wrong with being sad. Bubba is learning from you about feelings and how to handle them.

    1. I hope she has more happy than sad, but I was glad she was able to tell me she was sad.

Awwww. I’m sure that was heart-wrenching. But her bunny is adorable! The EB brought my little Popstar one very much like that. She loves it!!

    1. Our Easter Bunny’s ears are perfect for carrying him around by. Hope you had a lovely time with your Popstar – Sage seems to be having fun 🙂
