My love

Today I’m going to share some of my favourite Love Bug speak. Before I can blink I know she’ll be speaking a thousand miles an hour and I will struggle to remember the days she deliberated over her choice of words, and paused to find the correct ones to convey her message.

I’m also worried I’ll forget her interpretation of certain words, and her precious little Bubbaisms.

Put the music big mumma. {Turn the music up loud.}

We put our gumboots on and walk in muddles? {Puddles.}

She says I do a washing {or whatever it is she’s doing} rather than the washing. If only washing were singular in our house!

i do a washing mumma

When we’re at the traffic lights she says go a light is green now or stop a light is red now a la Go, Dog. Go!

If you’re explaining something to her, instead of saying yes she says okay. She’ll quite often say it when you’re mid explanation too, nodding along.

I splash the toilet? {flush}

We have pastaroni {macaroni pasta} or peas with otto {risotto}?

Not quite is her response if she’s in the middle of something, or not finished. Not for my Love Bug ‘not yet’, oh no.

If you’re lucky enough to get kisses and cuggles, you’ll be told that’s enough kisses when you’ve had your quota {3, maybe 4 maximum} but if you’ve been lucky enough to be offered kisses, don’t try to escape without your cuggles. I mean, you wouldn’t, would you? No-one in their right mind would!

If you hang around and being silly a little too long though, or you’re at risk of overstaying your welcome, you’ll get a bye bye to wrap you up. I’m not even kidding.

She’s happy to share the compliments, and will tell me if somethings booful {beautiful} mumma. It could be the clothes you’re wearing, or it could be the fort you’re building. If she’s happy with the aesthetic, she’ll let me know. Sometimes we even get a so booful.

Last night we were getting ready for stories on my bed and she patted the pillow beside her and said lay down my love. I call her my love all the time. My heart exploded just a little.

Oh, and I forgot to mention this, but on our walk last weekend, I noticed Bubba was tall enough to press the button to cross the road when she stands on her tiptoes. Um, since when?

    Is she a Peppa Pig fan? I say ‘muddles’ could well be a combination of ‘muddy’ + ‘puddles’! 😉

  3. So sweet! You’d have to be deranged to leave without your cuggles!
