Give a mate a hand on Australia Day

Mateship is a value Australians hold dear. Lots of dogs will be out with their families today, probably sharing a little more from the BBQ than they usually would – because it would be un-Australian not to share with your best mate.

If you happen to see a mate who looks like he’s lost. Or someone brings a new mate along to your Australia Day celebrations, ask about the dog. If you are driving somewhere and see a dog that looks like it may be lost, hurt or frightened, please take five minutes out of your day to stop and make sure the dog is okay.

Do you recognise me?

Wilson is a rescue dog who went missing from his new home in Annandale in Sydney just before Christmas, after a break-in at his new home. He’s a kelpie x cattle dog with a dash of german shepherd too – the quintessential little Aussie mate. You can read more about him here.

If you see a dog you think might be him, please call the Wilson hotline {this number is manned 24/7} on +61 456 074 700.

Only then can you throw another shrimp on the barbie … or if you’re anything like us, a vegetarian sausage. Happy Australia Day!
