Bubba has been telling me she loves me for a while now. But that doesn’t mean I don’t feel it each time. My heart flutters and I wonder if I’ll ever be immune to it? I hope not. It particularly gets me times when I’m not expecting it: like when we’re driving along playing spot the truck and in the middle of look mumma, digger and red truck mumma there’s an I love you mumma. *sigh*
Lately though, she’s been telling me she loves other things. Your dress with flowers mumma? Yes Bubba. Oh, okay mumma. I love it. Thank you gorgeous girl.
You paint your nails mumma? Red mumma? Yes Love Bug. I love it.
It’s so freaking cute!
Bubba is a hair twirler. She twirls her hair when she’s tired. She twirls it when she’s not feeling fabulous. She twirls it sometimes when she’s concentrating.
Tonight we were laying on my bed going through our bedtime routine. I leaned over to give her a kiss. My hair fanned her face. She reached up to twirl some around her fingers.
When I lay back down beside her she said to me: mumma, I can’t reach your hair, so I snuggled in closer.
That’s better mumma. I love your hair.
As the wise leader of the DogDaz crew noted the other day, at the moment I am her everything. And I’m doing my best to soak it up while I am!
