Um, I don’t think they’re the words

I would estimate we’ve read Go, Dog. Go! 87 times.

Since last weekend.

We’ve read it so often that Love Bug already knows some of the words. Some of the pages she remembers the wording the second I turn the page.

Then this happened. If you haven’t read this wonderful book, I’m about to spoil the plot, so you may want to look away.

At the top of the tree in the book there’s A Dog Party! That’s where all the dogs were going. There are only 75 words used in the whole book, so you have probably guessed the word dog is used over and over. And over.

not a cat in sight

So tonight, just as I turn the page that shows the dog party, Bubba yells out a CAT party! at which point I say um, I don’t think they’re the words Love Bug.

And we both dissolve into giggles. She’s a funny kid!

I had forgotten about Go Dog Go! I know I read it a thousand times to my kids, years ago (they are about to graduate from college now).

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. As soon as I started reading it, the words came flooding back and I can almost read it by heart again!

We love this book too! I was amazed when my daughter starting saying the pages before we got to them!

  3. She knows the cats would like a party as much as the dogs. It’s only fair!
